Building Manager Charged For Alleged Corruption
On 22 June 2021, Woo Kong Choy (“Woo”) (胡光財), a 61-year-old Singaporean male, was charged in Court for alleged corruption. At the material time, Woo was an employee of Wisely 98 Pte Ltd who was deployed as a Building Manager at Bugis Cube.
2. Woo faces the following corruption charges for offences allegedly committed between April 2019 and October 2020:

Three charges for obtaining gratification totalling S$600 from three tenants at Bugis Cube as an inducement for issuing renovation permits without ensuring the purchase of public liability insurance, punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

One charge for attempting to obtain gratification totalling S$200 from one tenant at Bugis Cube as an inducement for issuing a renovation permit without ensuring the purchase of public liability insurance, punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
3. Singapore adopts a strict zero-tolerance approach towards corruption. Any person who is convicted of a corruption offence can be fined up to S$100,000 or sentenced to imprisonment of up to five years or to both.
