Employees, who compromise their morals and work ethics by resorting to corrupt transactions as a means for personal gains, not only bring dishonor to themselves but also, bring far-reaching consequences to the community-at-large.
2. On 26 November 2015, three former employees of SP Powergrid Limited and one former employee of SP Services Limited will be charged in Court for the following offences:
i. Muhamad Ridhuan Bin Ramli, former technician of SP Powergrid Limited
One count of corruptly obtaining gratification of a sum of $450 from one Aung Myat Wynn as an inducement for not creating difficulties for China Construction South Pacific Pte Ltd during an installation inspection, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.
ii. Mohamad Suffiandi Bin Mohamad Suhaimi, former technician of SP Powergrid Limited
One count of corruptly accepting gratification of a sum of $200 from one Aung Myat Wynn as a reward for not creating difficulties for China Construction South Pacific Pte Ltd during an installation inspection, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.
iii. Mohd Bin Kutty Hassan, former technician of SP Powergrid Limited
One count of corruptly accepting gratification of a sum of $50 from one Aung Myat Wynn as a reward for not creating difficulties for China Construction South Pacific Pte Ltd during an installation inspection, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.
iv. Jasman Bin Tiron, former technician of SP Services Limited
Two counts of corruptly obtaining gratification amounting to a sum of $200 from one Li Chen as an inducement for not creating difficulties for China Construction South Pacific Pte Ltd during an installation inspection on two occasions, an offence punishable under Section 6(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chapter 241.
3. Singapore adopts a zero tolerance approach towards corruption. The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau takes a serious view of any corrupt practices, and will not hesitate to take action against any party involved in such acts.
